The future is BRIGHT – and so is Smart Fashion

In a week – on June 28th to 30th, 2021 – Creative Business Network is hosting their annual conference, #BRIGHT21. Of course, xPlot is joining in on the fun! On June 30th, tune in to hear our thoughts on the future of the fashion industry.

The fashion sector is undergoing a revolution. From gaming and music culture to digitally connected apparel, new technologies are influencing how we define the word itself; fashion.

What can be considered fashion, and how has our perception of fashion changed and adapted? How and what will fashion be in the future?

With a variety of projects with significant investments being launched in the EU, the future holds new standards for the textile industry, with recycling being a highlighted and rapidly growing sector. With the development of Spinning Jenny over 250 years ago, fashion was at the forefront of innovation. In today’s rapidly changing world – where business models are built around user communities – sustainability and digitalization fashion struggle to keep up with a new reality.

Disruptive cross-collaborations between industry sectors and the development of e-commerce, AR/VR dressing rooms, temperature-changing smart materials – and all that goes beyond – will have a massive impact on the fashion industry.

On the 30th of June at the annual BRIGHT Conference in Copenhagen, xPlot will participate in a panel discussion about Smart Fashion together with industry experts from around the globe. The panel talk will take a deep dive into the growth of the fashion industry and where technology is heading next.

Moderated by Katarina Scott from Future by Lund, the panel will include Lars Mattiasson, founder and CEO of xPlot, Fredrik Timour, founder of the Fashion Innovation Center, Thierry Baujard, founder of Media Deals, Riccardo Aimerito, founder of ERA-KI and DARE Clan, and Chhail Khalsa, creative and research principal, and founder of the research studio Anuvad.
