Applications to the 2021 Creative Business Cup are now OPEN!

Dreaming of growing your creative endeavors? Thinking about starting your own business? Ready for the opportunity of a lifetime? Join the annual Creative Business Cup and turn your thoughts into action! We are here to guide you along the way.

The Creative Business Cup is an international competition for innovative business ideas, products, and services. Anyone with a unique and creative business idea can participate. It doesn’t matter if you’re in the early stages of ideation or if your start-up is already up and running, as long as your business model contains creative and innovative solutions. Heard enough? Apply here!

The competition runs annually in more than 70 countries; and due to this year's peculiar circumstances, the 2021 cup is entirely virtual! This means pitching and presenting in the comfort of your own home office. While we too are sad that we won’t be able to meet you in person, we are devoted to making the best of our new reality and promise to make the best out of the situation. If you have any questions about the new, virtual format, please feel free to get in touch with us.

Everyone that signs up for the Creative Business Cup receives feedback from our team of experienced investors and business coaches. You have nothing to lose; and SO much to gain! What are you waiting for? Sign up here.

Johanna Forsberg and Andreas Jansson of StoryTourist representing Sweden at the Creative Business Cup 2019.

Still on the edge of applying? OK, let me do some more explaining. This is how it works:

  1. You send in your application to the Creative Business Cup following our page on F6S. In the application, you get the opportunity to explain, elaborate, and express your creative business idea. Our only requirement: that your company is registered in Sweden and thus has a Swedish organization number. If you are not yet registered – don’t fret! Registering your company is easy and can be done here. After you’ve obtained a Swedish organization number, you can continue with your CBC application.

  2. On the deadline – April 30, 2021 –  our team of experienced creatives, investors, and business coaches read through all applications in detail. They will provide valuable feedback on your idea, no matter if you pass through to the next round or not.

  3. Eight candidates are selected for the Swedish final in a pre-qualification round. The selected finalists will present their idea to our team in workshops on May 17-18, 2021. The presentation does not have to be a short pitch but can be as detailed and elaborate as you want. We are not here to pressure you with the added dimension of stress, but want to hear you out! As in all stages of the CBC, you will receive feedback to help perfect your pitch, get one-on-one coaching, and further develop your business idea.

  4. When you have had the time to digest the feedback, it is time to boil it all down into a 3-minute pitch to an international jury on May 19, 2021. The jury will evaluate the business concept, ask specific questions and provide valuable feedback. The jury not only evaluates the creative solution for the product or service but also its potential to succeed in a global market.

  5. The winner of Creative Business Cup Sweden gets a spot in the Creative Business Global Academy; an exclusive accelerator program where you get to rub shoulders with winners of the CBC in 70+ other countries. In the Global Academy, you will build a solid foundation of knowledge and tools together with some of the world's most innovative creative start-ups and an international team of investors and business developers. The program covers topics such as business development, internationalization, legal issues and IPR, market analysis, and PR.
  6. The winner also gets to represent Sweden in the Global Finals of the Creative Business Cup, which is held (virtually) in Copenhagen, on June 28-29, 2021.

That’s it. Six easy steps – and remember, in all stages of the CBC process, you will receive valuable feedback from experts of the Cultural and Creative Industries. What are you waiting for?
